I have a vip722 dvr from dish net. and want to hook it up to my computer to edit and burn to dvd. some one told me you could from the usb port on the dvr and then to your computer. I tried but didn’t have the transfer cable i just made a homemade male to male usb to hook up. if you have any info that could help that would be great, thanks.

How many minutes do I need to delete to make room to record something with DVR?

Were assuming my DVR is full here. So lets say it’s full and I want to record a show that is 60 minutes. If I delete a show from the recorded list that is 60 minutes long, will I then have enough space? Or is there some weird thing where I have to delete more than what I am going to record? Do I need an extra cord or something.
