It is a 10.5 inch hitachi lcd panel (for a laptop) with two cords for power and 31 input slots. Is there some way to use these input slots for video, do I need a signal decoder in between? thanks for your help…

if you have the cable box for the monitor to plug into, then you just need a converter from your monitor plug to your tv cable plug

Do you get some kind of digital cable? or Direct TV or something? with these digital cable services you do need a cable box from the company,

If you just have normal free town cable then you prob. just need something like this http://www.cnet.com/4520-7387_1-6341848-2.html?tag=tab

depends on the “input slots” what types of “inputs” are they?

I can tell you that “VGA” is completely different than pretty much every thing else. (RCA, coaxial, s-video….etc) and are hard to convert. (but not impossible)

Not unless your a hitachi laptop engineer, and from the sounds of it, your not. Not being critical,, but the slots are probably digital driver slots to send info to the LCD driver in the panel. the answer is no,, sorry.
