How do I hook up my DVR to record off of DirecTV?

I have a DVR that is NOT from DirecTV but it is HD. I cannot figure out how to hook up the back between all the different colored wires in the back and the HDMI cable which my TV only has ONE of…. Help?

    Usual setup is from DirecTV box to DVR to TV. You will need an output on the DirectTV box that matches the input on the DVR (ideally HDMI). Then you will need an output on the DVR that matches the input on the the TV (ideally HDMI). If not HDMI, component (blue green red) also provide a good picture but then you will need to hook up sound (digital or analog) as well. Good luck!
