How do I transfer media off my DirecTV DVR?

I have Direct TV with DVR. If I record something on that DVR, is there a way for me to get the recorded media on to my computer and on to a DVD?

    Not with digital connections.

    You will need a video capture device on your computer, or a DVD recorder to copy to.

    yes, you can use tristar mx home theater dvr to capture the DirecTV DVR.
