Kiss have announced that they will tour Europe next year, confirming five UK and Ireland dates.

The band announced the tour, which is dubbed ‘Sonic Boom Over Europe: From The Beginning To The Boom’. On the day that has already seen one ageing rock

monster, U2, announce they are headling Glastonbury 2010, Kiss have revelaed they will be playing Wembley next year as part of a european tour. The tour is

tiled ‘Sonic Boom Over Europe: From The Beginning To The Boom’, the rock veterans play shows in Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London.

Gene Simmons and co are set to visit the UK and Ireland next May, playing dates including Dublin’s O2 Arena (May 7), Glasgow’s SECC (9) and London’s Wembley

Arena (13).

Acclaim for KISS on their current spectacular, sell-out, “KISS Alive 35” North American tour has been universal. METAL HAMMER hailed the “Return Of The

Kings!” MOJO declared: “A KISS show is as thrilling and bombastic now as it was in 1975.”

Whilst utilizing elements of “KISS Alive 35”, “Sonic Boom Over Europe: From The Beginning To The Boom” will be a fresh, new show tailored to the bands

European fans and showcasing the brand new “Sonic Boom” album.

Widely acclaimed as another KISS classic, “Sonic Boom” rocked Planet Earth when it debuted worldwide and burned up the charts – the album is also the highest

charting album of KISS’ career in the USA.

Paul Stanley says, “The “KISS Alive 35 Tour” was just the start.”Sonic Boom Over Europe” leaves that show in the dust. New stage, new setlist, new outfits,

new album! We’re covering the whole musical history of the band on a stage that takes KISS one giant step further in our eight inch heels. We’re stoked. You

wanted the best? You GOT the best!”

Gene Simmons says, “Now. More than Ever. KISS is a four wheel drive monster truck. Our mission? To rock Planet Earth. To spread the gospel of Sonic Boom”

The band revealed the 2010 jaunt, dubbed ‘Sonic Boom Over Europe: From The Beginning To The Boom’, in a video posted online yesterday.

Presales start from 26th November so get in there early, with general sale from Friday 27th November at 9am visit Kiss Tickets Link for more information.

How risky is it to sell tickets to the Masters golf tournament on Ebay?

March 31, 2011 by admin · 5 Comments

The Augusta National Golf Club has stated it will revoke any member on their ticket list if they find that tickets have been scalped in any way. Is there a possible way, aside from purchasing the scalped tickets outright, that the club can find out who sold the tickets?
I have been to the tournament many times before and they have never asked for ID once when checking-in. I was more concerned with them identifying me through Ebay. Is that possible since I have a screen name and do not use my real name?
I would also be selling them for a relative and not myself.

Bonnaroo Music Festival Tickets – Don’t Miss Out on the 4-Day Package

July 26, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment

The biggest music festival in the country is going to be taking place this summer in Manchester, Tenn. With headliners including some of the biggest mainstream stars anywhere and a host of indie-rock bands from across the nation, it’s hard to turn down the opportunity to get tickets to the 2010 Bonnaroo Music Festival. But if you’re going to go, consider going for the whole event. That’s right: the 4-day package, which lets visitors stay through an entire weekend, taking in a smorgasbord of music, comedy and more.

The big attractions at Bonnaroo every year are the headliners. There are big names topping every night, with Dave Matthews Band and the Kings of Leon being sure-fire draws for the college crowd. Hip-hop fans will be tuning in to see Jay-Z, while fans of classic R&B will check out Stevie Wonder. And for those with a taste for the trippy, the Flaming Lips will be there with their wildly visual stage show—though this year, they’re playing Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety, which is sure to be a special experience for Floyd fans.

On top of those major artists, there are a host of smaller indie-rock artists that you’re not going to want to miss out on. Garage rockers the Dead Weather, which is fronted by Jack White, will be a big draw, as will Phoenix, the French band that drew so much attention in 2009 with “1901.” Electro-disco artist James Murphy, known for working under the name of LCD Soundsystem, will also be making a splash with tracks from his new album, This is Happening. Likewise, indie-rockers the National will be performing new music from their record High Violet.

There’s a range of even smaller upstarts that are climbing the ranks and will be drawing the spotlight at Bonnaroo this year, ranging from the U.K.’s dream-pop outfit the xx to metal rockers Baroness. Two of the bands that have earned the buzz of the blogosphere are Japandroids, a punky indie-rock outfit, and Neon Indian, a drowsy, dreamy synth-rock band. Both of them are going to be considered must-see acts this year, even though they are considerably smaller in stature than a lot of the other, more well-known bands.

And aside from all the music, there will be plenty of comedy to enjoy, too. That’s one of the standout attractions of the Bonnaroo Music Festival, and each year a host of awesome stand-up comics can be found on the stages here. This year’s surprise, of course, will be Conan O’Brien, recently released from his contract with NBC and forbidden to be funny on television. As a result, Conan is hitting the road, and he happens to be stopping at a lot of music festivals this summer as well. Other comics include well-known funny woman Margaret Cho and Parks and Recreation star Aziz Ansari.

Why settle for choosing one day when you can have the total Bonnaroo experience? Splurge and enjoy yourself. Ask Michael Bublé how he felt going in to record his third studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with 11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under his belt can sum it up in one word.

“Terrified,” he says simply. Terrified?

“Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than the first two — that it had to show growth without alienating anyone, and that’s a tough line. So I sat there from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually beautiful.”

Bublé has certainly achieved success on that front. As with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003’s self-titled debut and 2005’s multi-platinum follow-up It’s Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bublé’s buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and others, as well as two self-penned originals, including the first single, the uplifting love song called “Everything.”

But it’s hardly business as usual for this Vancouver native. It never is for Bublé, whose irrepressible spirit, engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New York Times to call him “an entertainer who is completely at home on the stage.” His new CD, which he calls “my remark on the state of love,” contains a depth of feeling that will surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new to his music. “To me, what’s different about this CD is that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many of these songs live in the studio.” Bublé introduces the electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with the opening track, Cy Coleman’s “The Best Is Yet To Come,” (made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). Then there’s the exhilarating, salsa-flavored “It Had Better Be Tonight,” written by Johnny Mercer and Henry Mancini, which Bublé attacks with a hot-blooded vengeance—“another very sexy song…and edgy.” From there, he takes on “Me and Mrs. Jones,” the 1972 Gamble and Huff classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. “David (Foster) brought it to me, I’d never actually heard it before,” Bublé says. “We wanted it to be authentic and tell the story.” Next up is Leonard Cohen’s “I’m Your Man” from the Canadian singer/songwriter’s 1988 album of the same name. “I always thought it was a wonderful song — desperate, sexy, and dark,” Bublé says. “I actually called Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. When he asked me why, I said because he’d written too sexy of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their underpants at me. He just laughed and said, ‘I wouldn’t worry too much about that.’”

Then there’s a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Tormé’s 1962 pop hit “Comin’ Home Baby,” featuring vocals from Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, self-penned ballad “Lost,” co-written with Chang and Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. “It’s an anthem for star-crossed lovers,” Bublé says. “Sometimes relationships don’t work out because love isn’t enough, but that doesn’t mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end a relationship and still be there when they need you. That’s basically what it’s about.”

A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton’s ballad “Wonderful Tonight,” on which Bublé duets with Brazilian singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered by everyone from Sarah Vaughn to Ella Fitzgerald follows. “I’ve always been very sentimental about that song,” Bublé says. “What is interesting about that track is here I am, a 31-year-old guy from Canada who’s singing a song that means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil, who’s singing in his own language but it means the exact same thing to both of us.”

Other highlight’s include two of Bublé’s original songs, including the acoustic-guitar driven “Everything,” co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who also co-wrote Bublé’s touching hit ballad “Home” off It’s Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Bryan Adams). “I wrote that song about the great happiness of real love, but at the same time I was making a statement about the world,” Bublé says. “We’re living in really crazy times, and I wanted to say that no matter what’s happening, this person in my life is what really makes it worthwhile.”

Rounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank Sinatra’s “That’s Life,” which, in Bublé’s hands, becomes a powerhouse complete with a full choir. “I brought the song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the acappella group Take 6 and said, ‘I want to take this to church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.’ So he brought in a choir and I love it. It’s one of my favorite things about the record.”

To help him capture the intensity in the songs’ meanings, Bublé turned to his long-standing team of producers, which include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra Streisand, Céline Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny’s Child, Michael Jackson). “We definitely have a great working relationship where I think I interfere just enough,” Bublé says with a laugh. “I mean, David is the greatest producer in the world. They’re both so amazing, I couldn’t do it without them.”

Foster first discovered Bublé seven years ago when he caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of former Canadian Prime Minster’s daughter. The son of a British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bublé spent the months his parents were away with his music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to the singers who would become Bublé’s idols: Bobby Darin, Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. “These guys were triple threats,” he says. “They could sing, they could dance, they could act. They were entertainers, and I believe that’s a lost art now.”

Bublé honed his skills as a showman through years of performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars — gigs his grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met him 2000, Bublé already knew exactly what he brought to the table — a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste in music. His debut album was an international smash, going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The follow-up, It’s Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for more than 80 weeks, an all-time record.

But along with his passion for creating great music in the studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael Bublé. “I just love getting in front of people,” he says. “It’s so important to be in touch with your audience. They’ve paid their money. I want them to be entertained. If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just to take them away.”

NOTE: It is my humble opinion that anklets are sexy and women should wear them more.

Vince Gill Tickets – Gill And Grant Celebrate 10-Year Anniversary

June 27, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment

Some couples were just made in music heaven, and such is the case with Vince Gill and Amy Grant. Vince Gill is a versatile country star who has remained relevant over many years, and Amy Grant was a hit maker in her own right during the late 1980s and 1990s. On March 10, the musical duo celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary, remembering their Nashville nuptials in 2000. They have been collaborating on charities ever since.

His wedding anniversary isn’t the only thing Vince Gill has to celebrate lately. On Feb. 27, Vince Gill made an impromptu appearance onstage with guitar legend Eric Clapton. The dream gig happened when Clapton had a concert at Nashville’s Sommet Center, and Clapton was partway through his acoustic set when he called Gill up to the stage. The two played four songs together: “Nobody Knows You When You’re Down and Out,” “Running Faith,” “I’ve Got a Rock and Roll Heart” and “Layla,” before Gill stepped off the stage, but he came back at the end for “Crossroads.” Gill and Clapton will meet up again on June 26 at Toyota Park in Chicago at Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival. Other celebrities to join in include Jeff Beck, Sheryl Crow and Buddy Guy.

Even though he has notched many country-pop hits on the charts, Gill is also widely respected for his guitar skills. The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum (AKA the Cowboy Hall of Fame) in Oklahoma City opened a guitar exhibit in March, which displayed guitars used by country greats like Garth Brooks, Toby Keith and Marty Robbins. Vince Gill also has a guitar on display, and GATV quoted Gill explaining his history with the instrument: “I got my own guitar when I was 10, but until then, that was the guitar that I tried to learn on. [Dad] had two guitars. That’s the one I was always drawn to, to try to learn to play. I think it’s got to be the first instrument I ever remember seeing.”

The best way to experience Gill’s music is to get Vince Gill tickets for his tour, which are available at StubHub.com, but those visiting Nashville’s famed Station Inn may get lucky on some Monday nights. Gill has committed to taking the stage with the western swing band the Time Jumpers on Monday nights at the Station Inn whenever he isn’t on tour. The appearances will be quite the steal for fans who want to see Gill, as the cover charge is only $10. Of course, it will be different from seeing Vince live in concert, as he is known for putting on quite a show.

Gill is also lending his voice for two worthy causes. Vince Gill and Amy Grant both took part of the single “Come Together Now” to raise money for Haiti relief. The single was organized by Michael W. Smith and included many celebrities like Wynonna, Steven Curtis Chapman, Toby Mac and many more. Gill’s song “Go Rest High on That Mountain” will also be part of a new release called Sunday in the Country: 12 Inspiring Hits From Today’s Top Country Artists. The album will benefit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and also includes Trace Adkins, Alabama, Diamond Rio, Tracy Lawrence, George Strait, Josh Turner, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Martina McBride, Steve Wariner and Lee Ann Womack.

Jeff Beck Tickets – Still Bringing Up Tons Of ‘emotion & Commotion’

June 25, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment

He loves to stir up commotion, and now Jeff Beck is doing so with his aptly titled set and tour Emotion & Commotion. The veteran guitar slinger who really knows how to sling those chords recently added a few more dates to his headlining jaunt for April and June. Throughout the tour, which sees opening act in Grammy winner Joss Stone, Beck will make an appearance at Eric Clapton’s Crossroad Guitar Festival and Bonnaroo Festival in June.

The outing, which jumps out April 16th in San Francisco, will hit big city arenas like Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre, Houston’s Verizon Wireless Theater, St. Louis’ Fox, Boston’s Bank of America Pavilion and Atlanta’s Chastain Park, among others. There isn’t a moment to miss for the spring/summer Commotion Tour, so get Jeff Beck tickets now from http://www.stubhub.com.

Emotion & Commotion was recorded in Beck’s home country with producers Steve Lipson and Trevor Horn at the helm. The album, which is due out in April, also included session work by collaborators Vinnie Colaiuta on drums, Jason Rebello on keys and Tal Wilkenfeld on bass. Additionally, Emotions & Commotions features a 64-piece orchestra, while two singles – “I Put a Spell on You” and “There’s No Other Me” – feature Beck’s opener, Joss Stone, on vocals. The set comes at a perfect time in terms of commercial exposure, as his single “A Day in the Life” recently earned Beck his fifth Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental Performance and the single is also featured on last year’s Performing this Week…Live at Ronnie Scott’s.

Beck is fresh off his co-headlining tour with Eric Clapton, and many critics thought that Beck outshined his Yardbirds counterpart (he replaced Clapton in the legendary rock group in ‘65). The Wallington, England native continues to see fame years after he debuted his sound. “For my parents, who lived through the war, music was a source of comfort to them. Life was tense and music helped them forget about their troubles,” he said on his website. “I’m sure that made an impression on me.” The guitarist we know today first started after a stint with London’s Wimbledon Art College.

Amazingly enough, even though Beck had played guitar for years his first work with a real musical outfit was with the Yardbirds in 1965. However, just two years later Beck left the group to form his own band – the Jeff Beck Group – which released two albums together (Truth and Beck- Ola)before disbanding. Though the outfit remained unsteady for the next decade, they released two more albums, 1971’s Rough and Ready and 1972’s The Jeff Beck Group.

Beck’s guitar expertise didn’t limit him to just one genre, and miraculously enough after finishing up a rock album with the trio Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice, Beck turned to jazz-fusion. The instrumental sets demolished any stereotypes experts might have on Beck’s musical intentions, as the albums Blow by Blow and Wired remain some of the best-selling instrumental pieces of all time.

Beck continued to record in the studio, returning with 1980’s There and Back, 1985’s Flash and 1989’s Jeff Beck’s Guitar Shop with Terry Bozzio and Toy Hymas. He has continued to release albums sporadically through the most recent decades, retaining his status as one of rock music’s most valuable guitarists.

Jeff Beck Tickets – Still Finding All Sorts of Emotions and Commotions

Hailed as one of the best guitar players in history, Jeff Beck is out on tour this summer promoting his first set in seven years. The Emotion & CommotionTour opened in San Francisco’s Nob Hill Masonic Centre in April and will close out at the Crossroad Festival in Chicago in late June. Beck’s one May performance was rocking the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, where he had no problem living up to what Jazz Fest producer Quint Davis hailed as “the greatest guitarist to come out of and emerge from rock ‘n’ roll,” reports Festival Crashers. The result was nothing but extraordinary, as http://www.stubhub.com continues to sell Jeff Beck tickets.

Despite the obvious promotions, Beck is promoting legendary guitar maker Les Paul in a two-night residency at the Iridium Jazz Club of New York City. The “Celebration of Les Paul” will feature Beck and The Imelda May Band June 8th and 9th honoring the late Les Paul, who passed away this year. “When I first heard Les Paul playing ‘How High the Moon,’ I thought, man, that’s what I want my sound to be like. Now, here I am years later and he’s still a powerful influence in all that I do,” Beck said in a press release. The event with Gibson Guitar will take place on Paul’s 95th birthday. The performance is just one of many that Beck has been able to honor for the legendary Paul, as he and Imelda May performed that classic hit Beck talks of during 2010’s Grammy Awards.

While Jeff Beck’s name might not be as mainstream as his fellow Yardbirds alum Eric Clapton, in the rock ‘n’ roll world his is the most talked about in history. Though commercial audiences had trouble catching on to his tunes following Rod Stewart’s departure from the Jeff Beck Group, the England native can astound with just a few musical bars. That magical power was showcased last April when Beck joined singer Joss Stone on the stage for “Idol Gives Back.” The fundraising event brought together an all-star cast but it was Stone and Beck, who did their own rendition of Jay Hawkins’ 1956 classic “I Put a Spell on You” that stole the show.

A rock ‘n’ roll staple since the ’60s when he joined the Yardbirds’ following Clapton’s departure, Beck marked a first last year when he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. After a whirlwind of promotions that year as Eric Clapton and Stevie Wonder celebrated 25 years of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Beck headed straight into the studio. Bringing along producers Steve Lipson and Trevor Horn, it was the first time Beck recorded in nearly a decade. The Rhino Records release was yet another first for the veteran guitarist, as Emotions & Commotions became his bestselling album to date. With a critically and commercially praised set, Beck had no other choice to promote his 15th studio set with a tour, bringing along new band members Rhonda Smith, Narada Michael Walden and longtime keyboardist Jason Rebello.

Thin Lizzy Tickets for Thin Lizzy + Supersuckers

Thin Lizzy are an Irish hard rock band who formed in Dublin, Ireland in 1969. Thin Lizzy band were led throughout their recording career by bassist, songwriter and singer Phil Lynott, and are best known for their songs “Whiskey in the Jar”, “Jailbreak” and “The Boys Are Back in Town”, all major international hits still played regularly on hard rock and classic rock radio stations.

Thin Lizzy band’s original lead guitarist Eric Bell, who was a fan of John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, bought a copy of The Dandy comic after seeing Eric Clapton depicted reading a copy of its sister publication The Beano on the cover of the 1966 album Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton.

Eric Bell suggested Tin Lizzie, the name of a robot character from the comic, itself named for the common nickname for the iconic Ford Model T car. Bell also suggested they change ‘Tin’ to ‘Thin’ to play on the Irish accent’s propensity to drop the ‘h’.

After a while, Lynott and Downey agreed to the idea and the name stuck, as they thought the confusion was amusing and would create a talking point. For some of their early gigs, the band were mistakenly promoted as “Tin Lizzy” or “Tin Lizzie”

Thin Lizzy band members include:

Ricky Warwick – Lead vocals, rhythm guitar (2010-)
Scott Gorham – Lead guitar, rhythm guitar, backing vocals (1974-1984, 1986, 1991, 1994, 1996-2001, 2004-)
Vivian Campbell – Lead & rhythm guitar (2010-)

Thin Lizzy has released 14 studio albums so far: Thin Lizzy (1971), Shades of a Blue Orphanage (1972), Vagabonds of the Western World (1973), Nightlife (1974), Fighting (1975), Jailbreak (1976), Johnny the Fox (1976), Bad Reputation (1977), Live and Dangerous (1978), Black Rose: A Rock Legend (1979), Chinatown (1980), Renegade (1981), Thunder and Lightning (1983), Thin Lizzy Greatest Hits (2004).

Five Classic Concert Tickets

June 5, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment

Don’t you just love that movie ‘High Fidelity’ where the hero is constantly making lists of his top 5 all time favorite records, girl friends, meals and whatever. I save all the concert tickets from the concerts that I have been to and I can’t help but make up my top five classic concerts and wish I had the concert tickets to go with the memories.

Classic concert ticket number 5: U2 plays on an L.A. liquor store rooftop, March 27, 1987. They were atop a liquor store rooftop, Los Angeles. It may not have had The Beatles’ originality, but Bono and the guys surely enjoyed their 20 minutes on top of the LA world nevertheless. The Irish super group was about four songs into the gig on an L.A. liquor store rooftop when the city police decided to end their impromptu performance and spoil the fun for the fans that had gathered below. Strictly speaking this wasn’t a concert with proper concert tickets but I love the video “Where The Streets Have No Name”, which was the point of the whole exercise.

Classic concert ticket number 4: George Harrison’s Concert for Bangladesh, August 1, 1971 at Madison Square Garden, New York City. What had initially been conceived as a small political fundraiser aimed at bringing humanitarian relief to the refugees in breakaway Bangladesh quickly turned into one of the biggest rock fundraisers of the 1970s. Although Lennon and McCartney never ended up signing on to Ravi Shankar’s cause, many other stars did, including George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Billy Preston, and Eric Clapton, who actually collapsed onstage as a result of his protracted bout of heroin addiction but still managed to proceed with the concert. The 40,000 or so fans who crowded New York’s Madison Square Garden witnessed some rare performances, including a 25-minute Indian recital by Ravi Shankar, Bob Dylan’s “A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall” and Ringo Starr’s “It Don’t Come Easy.”

Classic concert ticket number 3: Pink Floyd break visual barriers with The Wall shows between February 1980 and June 1981. It was a World tour. Pink Floyd’s visual theatrics took a turn for the legendary with their infamous The Wall concerts, which were the last shows Roger Waters, Richard Wright, Dave Gilmour, and Nick Mason performed together before the Live 8 show in July 2005. Each show required timed performances and unprecedented cooperation between the musicians, concert crew, lighting engineers, and computer programmers. In fact, extended instrumentals and Roger Waters’ impromptu introductions often served to cover up stage fires and other technical difficulties, which seemed inevitable when putting together a show that included a 30-foot-high teacher puppet, a scorpion wife and other such animated characters.

Classic concert ticket number 2: Jimi Hendrix wows Woodstock, August 18, 1969 at Woodstock, New York. After plowing through three days worth of rain, mud, minbending drugs, and music, the 30,000 or so diehard fans who chose to brave one more night for Jimi Hendrix’s Woodstock closer were not disappointed. In fact, those who stuck around to witness Hendrix’s mind-blowing rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” cannot deny its importance on the festival’s soundtrack; it became the eternal anthem of a generation of civil rights crusaders, anti-war protestors and music lovers everywhere. Now I know this was a ‘free’ concert but it didn’t start out that way and there were actual concert tickets issued for Woddstock.

Classic concert ticket number 1: The Beatles sell out Shea Stadium August 15, 1965 in New York City. After a thundering welcome at JFK airport, the American release of Help! And an electrifying appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, The Beatles’ success at Shea Stadium, the first-ever stadium concert of its kind, was all but guaranteed. In fact, the sell-out crowd of 55,600 was so deafening that the The ‘Fab Four’ could barely hear themselves play throughout their 30-minute set. Instead, The Beatles’ grand armored van entrance, John Lennon’s ‘Jerry Lee Lewis’ onstage freak-out and the event’s record-setting gross revenues stole the show.
