2009 was a busy year for the Flaming Lips, but the Oklahoma-based psychedelic-space rock band is set to have an even busier 2010! The Flaming Lips spent ample time in the studio last year, releasing their first double album Embryonic in October, followed by a track-for-track remake of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon in December. Pitchfork announced on March 2 that Wayne Coyne & Co. will embark upon a U.S. tour this spring which will continue into summer and include a date at Tennessee’s Bonnaroo Music Festival.

The Flaming Lips will begin their road trip in Austin, Texas on March 12, and a press release about the tour promises a live set that is “more impossibly Orange (like sunshine) than ever.” From there, the Flaming Lips will continue on to cities like Charlottesville, VA; Ithaca, NY; Montclair, NJ; Milwaukee, WI; Bloomington, IN; West Palm Beach, FL; Oxford, ME; New York, NY and more. Head to StubHub.com for Flaming Lips tickets to see them live. Stardeath and White Dwarfs will join the Lips for the majority of their tour dates, including a June 11 gig at Bonnaroo, where they will perform the iconic Dark Side of the Moon album in its entirety along with their normal live fare.

Embryonic was recorded at studios in Fredonia, NY and the Flaming Lips’ Oklahoma City hometown with longtime collaborator Dave Fridmann. Last year, frontman Wayne Coyne told Billboard.com, “Somewhere along the way, it occurred to me that we should do a double album. Just this idea that you can weave a couple of themes into there and you can sprawl a little bit.” The follow-up to 2006’s At War with the Mystics, Embryonic is the Flaming Lips’ 12th studio album, and it certainly got a stamp of approval from Rolling Stone. Reviewing the album, the music magazine gushed, “These psych-rock mystics haven’t sounded so off-the-wall since they were Oklahoma acidheads in the Eighties.”

Only the Flaming Lips would attempt to re-make the classic Pink Floyd album Dark Side of the Moon, and when the band did so they recruited Stardeath and White Dwarfs. The album also features guest vocals by Henry Rollins and Peaches. Although only currently available as a digital release, the Lips’ version of Dark Side will be released as a limited-edition vinyl starting on April 17 and CD format on May 4, reported LiveDaily.com. The Flaming Lips, Stardeath and White Dwarfs performed Dark Side in its entirety at an event dubbed New Years Eve Freakout on Dec. 31 in Oklahoma City.

According to Spinner, Coyne pondered remaking Black Sabbath’s first album at one point. “As we were doing Dark Side of the Moon we thought, just as your mind tends to, ‘What other records could we do?’ We had considered, as the grouping, that we might cover Black Sabbath’s first record,” said Coyne before explaining, “We like enough of the Black Sabbath songs, it’s short and probably enough people know a few of their songs that it would be interesting.” Stay tuned to see if Coyne and the rest of the Lips decide to take on Black Sabbath after all.

Get Radiohead Tickets for the Concert of the Year!

It’s no wonder people are dying for Radiohead tickets! The band deserves such fans! Transformed from their garage-band sound of three guitars in their debut single, “Creep”, this band has come out with their newest album, “2007’s In Rainbows.”

All About The Band

Get two parts Lovelesss, two parts Pink Floyd, one part Bossanova with a generous dose of U2’s early vehemence and combine them. You get Radiohead! This is a band that has songs marked with anguish ridden lyrics and music that’s got a tinge of electronics and advanced styles.

It was 1993 when Radiohead debuted with their album “Pablo Honey.” One of its singles, “Creep” was a rock anthem and gained international acclaim. With this surprising success, critics were all geared up to label Radiohead as a one-hit wonder band. However, they were rendered speechless when the band’s second album titled “The Bends” was released in 1995. It received amazing reviews in native Britain.

Although some remained unmoved by the relatively placid songs of “The bends”, there were many takers for its unique and diverse sound. Here was a newly formed British band that owed less to the Sex Pistols and Beatles and more to Pink Floyd.

Radiohead’s next release was “OK Computer.” This was a post-punk, art-progressive-rock album with an electro-mix of intricate graphics, real emotions, and lyrics ridden with anguish. It became one of the most appreciated albums of the ‘90s. Even the critics smiled!

Since the release of this electro-mix album, touring became a crucial part of the band’s production process. The band started experimenting with new sonic textures. “Paranoid Android” was one such song that reflected the changed choice of the band since they first performed. It was the first single of “OK Computer.” This six and half minute track managed to find the third position in UK Charts.

Radiohead’s fourth album “Kid A” was released in October 2000. It rose to a top position in US Album Charts! This album silenced the critics and let the band emerge as a perfectionist. In June, 2001, Radiohead released the album “Amnesiac.” It contained songs that were recorded during the making of “Kid A” album, including the number “Knives Out.” Now, it seemed that this band left Pink Floyd far behind and started on a new musical note parallel to Can or Sigur Ros.

The year 2003 saw the release of “Hail To The Thief” by Radiohead. It was a mature and bold album with electronic theatrics and epic prog-rock. The noteworthy feature of this album was the absence of anguish ridden lyrics! Instead, the songs reflected complex metaphor as well as layered texture to express thoughts.

This band likes to experiment! And every time they embark on a new musical journey, they are greeted with applause from fans. One of the specialties of this band is that they are more into improving themselves with every album, rather than trying to dominate the rock world.

Perhaps that’s why each album of Radiohead speaks for itself in a new way. There’s no competition; only music from the heart!

Radiohead tickets have become almost a challenge to get! Want them? Dial a number!

Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck Tickets – Dream Team

Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck have often appeared at many a concert together, but they have never shared a ticket…until now. The two guitar aficionados will perform two shows together at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan on February 21 and 22. This is the first time that the pair will be on an official co-bill. In the past they have both appeared next to each other at The Secret Policeman’s Ball for Amnesty International and at the ARMS Concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Both events took place in the early 1980s. Fans of the two rock music greats can see the show on the other side of world, tickets are reported to run about an average of $150. They will likely start going on sale in a couple weeks in the United States. For more information, be sure to keep checking back at http://www.stubhub.com/eric-clapton-tickets.

Eric Clapton, also known as “Slowhand” for his intricate guitar-picking style as well as one of his most successful albums of the same name, first launched his solo career with his self-titled debut album in mid-1970. Already, Clapton was a well-established star among the ranks in the music industry, thanks to his associations with the Yardbirds, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, Cream and Blind Faith. After his first solo release, Clapton dominated the decade with records that included: 461 Ocean Boulevard, There’s One in Every Crowd, E.C. Was Here, Slowhand and Backless. Several prominent singles arose from the efforts like “Cocaine,” “Lay Down Sally” and “Wonderful Tonight.” A couple decades later, Clapton became famous for another massively successful single, “Tears in Heaven,” which was written for his four-year-old son, who plunged to his death after he fell out of an apartment window. These days, it is still a joy to see Slowhand live in concert with a pair of Eric Clapton tickets.

Jeff Beck may not have achieved the same amount of star power as his contemporaries in the rock music field, but his skill on the guitar is undeniable. Beck started dabbling in the music industry in the 1960s when he joined the Yardbirds after the departure of Eric Clapton, and later formed the Jeff Beck Group with vocalist Rod Stewart and bassist Ron Wood, both of whom went onto have illustrious careers in the industry: Stewart as a solo artist and Wood as a member of the Rolling Stones. After the lineup dissolved, Beck continued releasing various albums periodically including Blow By Blow, which was a collaboration with Jan Hammer, and Wired. Beck would emerge onto the scene, only to disappear again for a years, haphazardly releasing albums and teaming up with his counterparts in the industry, like Mick Jagger and Roger Waters. Most recently, Beck released a live set of songs called Performing This Week: Live at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in 2008. Any fan has a chance to see him live with a pair of Jeff Beck tickets.

Any Clapton and Beck fan would surely jump at the chance to see these two iconic figures live on stage together. It might be a long trip to get there, but once the lights dim and the strings of the guitars can be heard filtering through the still air, it would surely be worth the flight.

Eric Clapton had given an interview to the magazine “Rolling Stone” which had Eric Clapton the editor make critical points about his guitar playing. This led to an eruption within the band that was the beginning of the end. Despite this setback, the band’s US tour carried on until June, during which they had been recording their most popular project, “Wheels Of Fire”, a double live album that was released in August 1968, shooting to UK #3 and the studio effort of UK #7, but both going directly to US #1 for four weeks. Despite the fact that the band had sold so many records, had sold out nearly every concert, had made millions and even managed to boost “Sunshine Of Your Love” to hit US #5 and UK #25, they decided that after a farewell tour of America the band would split up. The band toured North America in October, played two concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in London in November and the Cream was no more. Claptonexplained, “The Cream has lost direction.

In the winter of 1969 Eric Clapton began jamming with former Traffic front man Stevie Winwood, with Ginger Baker also joining in Eric’s Clapton mansion in Surrey. With bassist Ric Grech added to the lineup, the band became Blind Faith and started rehearsing and recording material. In June after the band finished a recording session for their first and only album, they made their live debut in Hyde Park to a crowd of over 200,000 fans. The concert itself didn’t go too well, however, and Eric Clapton and Winwood were more or less convinced that Blind Faith had blown it. However, despite their feelings, Blind Faith set out on a summer sellout tour of the US, playing in arenas and stadiums all over the country. The tour itself earned the band a fortune, but they were all convinced that the music itself was unsatisfying.

After the tour was over, and their only album, “Blind Faith”, was released, though, it wound up topping the charts worldwide. The band still decided to split up, though, and Eric Clapton went on tour with Delaney & Bonnie & Friends, who were Blind Faith’s support act on the tour, and also performed at times with The Plastic Ono Band.

Eric Clapton surprised his fans in 1992 with an unplugged album that featured “Tears in Heaven”, which surprisingly became his best selling album to date.
Derek and the DominosIn 1994 Eric Clapton released his live album “From the Craddle”, really bluesy, reaching nº1 on the Billboard and getting the Grammy as Best Traditional Blues Album. Three years after he would record the studio album “Pilgrim”. Eric Clapton made collaborations with BB King, Santana and Sheril Crow (With whom he had a brief relation), and two years later, in 1999 he married a twenty three year old named Melia McEnery.

In 2001 Eric Clapton released a new album named “Reptile”, and two more in 2004 covering classics of Robert Johnson. From then on he re-united with Cream to give some concerts, and made lots of collaborations with famous artists and tribute & benefit concerts, being remarkable the one to George Harrison, and the release of “The Road to Escondido” in 2006 along with J.J. Cale.
Now a days he is working on a new album along with Robbie Robertson (The Band), with whom Eric Clapton has played some concerts in 2008. Eric Clapton has also been invited to play live in North Korea, the concert should take place sometime in 2009.

Eric Clapton Tickets is very famous singer & George Harrison were so close

In 1969 Eric Clapton joined Blind Faith for a few months, releasing one album and its subsequent tour. Eric Clapton soon got tired and decided to tour as guitarist with Delaney and Bonnie and Friends, and also found time to release his first solo album at the same time, named “Eric Clapton”. It was 1970 and Eric Clapton not only had switched bands twice, but also released his first LP and recorded with many other different artists such as Ringo Starr, King Curtis, Howlin’ Wolf, Plastic Ono Band, and some others.

In Spring 1970 he decided to form yet another “famous artists” band, called Derek and the Dominos (called Eric and friends at first), which lasted a year, until 1971. It was in those days that Eric Clapton & George Harrison were so close, that Eric Clapton wrote many of the songs for the Derek and the Dominos album “Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs”, including (surprise!) “Layla” as its main hit, one of the most famous songs Eric Clapton ever wrote. Eric Clapton wrote that song thinking of Harrison’s wife, which he fell in love for. “Layla” album is regarded as one of his bewst ever made, and it was recorded with the aid of Allman Brothers guitarist Duane Allman.
The Yardbirds
Though the album was great the critics weren’t so good at release, and that fact coupled with the recent death of Clapton’s admired friend Jimi Hendrix were part of the reasons that made Eric Clapton fall in a drug addiction and alcoholism. Derek and the Dominos went on tour but soon they split.
Bad years were ahead for Eric Clapton as he left the stages and felt deep into a heroin addiction until 1973, year in which Pete Townshend (The Who) helped him to come back organising a concert for the occasion. Come 1974, cured from his addiction, and being with Harrison’s ex-wife Pattie Boyd, he released a new solo album named “461 Ocean Boulevard”. One year later he released “There’s One in Every Crowd”, and went on tour again, resulting in a live album, “E.C. Was Here.”.

In 1976 came “No reason to cry” and a year later “Slowhand”, which included his famous hits “Wonderful Tonight” and “Cocaine”.Buy & Sell Eric Clapton Tickets through YourTicketMarket.com.One stop shop to catch your favouite event Tickets like Eric Clapton Tickets,Guaranteed, Fast and Secure! 90-98 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, W1D 5EB
