What are the similarities and differences of Direct TV HD DVR compared to Tivo HD?
After moving into a new apartment complex, we are being forced to leave our current cable company and go with one the complex has a contract with – they use Dish DVR and we are not happy with it. Being Tivo customers for over 4 years, we are looking for something similar to Tivo. Direct TV seems to be the closest, but before we commit, we wanted to get some feedback.
For industrial strength AND great looks, Swiss Army Watches can not be beat!
The only advantages that a Tivo DVR offers over any other DVR is that it is networkable and its user interface and the user interface/ability to suggest similar shows to what you have been recording.
While I have never had Dish Network, I thus can not comment on their service.
However, Directv is constantly improving and enriching their software to add capability (and for much less cost than Tivo). I’m a beta tester on their cutting edge program. Here are a few of the new capabilities regular users should start seeing soon.
